Abstract

Foliar applications of calcium amino chelate, calcium nanochelate, and calcium nitrate were evaluated in apple trees in relation to sampling time and storage duration in two years. In the first year, the highest ascorbic acid contents were recorded with calcium amino chelate at 1000 mg/L and calcium nanochelate at 1000 mg/L, in combination with the first storage period. The greatest fruit firmness was obtained with calcium amino chelate at 500 and 1000 mg/L during the first and second storage periods. The greatest fruit length was observed in the control treatment. The largest leaf area was recorded with calcium amino chelate at 1000 mg/L at the second and third sampling times. The highest leaf chlorophyll index was obtained with calcium amino chelate at 500 mg/L at the second and third sampling times. In the second year, the highest ascorbic acid contents were obtained with calcium amino chelate at 1000 mg/L during the first and second storage periods. The highest titratable acidity was recorded with calcium amino chelate at 1000 mg/L during the first storage period. The highest total sugar content was recorded with calcium nanochelate at 500 and 1000 mg/L, calcium amino chelate at 1000, and calcium nitrate at 1000 mg/L during the third storage period. The greatest fruit firmness was obtained with calcium amino chelate at 1000mg/L during the first storage period. The greatest fruit length was recorded with calcium nitrate at 1000 mg/L, calcium amino chelate at 1000 mg/L, and calcium nanochelate at 500 mg/L. The greatest fruit diameter and fruit weight were also recorded with these three treatments. According to the results, calcium amino chelate was the most effective fertilizer among those evaluated.
